It found that, on average, the cheapest renewal quote was one that was obtained 26 days before the existing policy was due to be renewed with premiums averaging (median) £367 per annum. Get a quote 2 days after that and premiums have increased to an average (median) of £377 per annum. Obtain a quotation with 14 days to go before your existing cover is to be renewed and pay an average (median) of £395 per annum. With only 2 days to go premiums average (median) £484 per annum. If you leave it until your renewal date to get a quote then you will pay an average (median) of £569 per annum.
