Well, it has been a long time coming but Euro 2024 finally got underway on Friday 14th June 2024 in Munich, Germany with the host nation beating Scotland 5 – 1. Fans from England and Scotland will probably in the main have travelled by plane from various airports dotted around the countries. However, there will be some who have used various methods of road transport including motorhomes.

If you decided to travel by motorhome or have yet to make the journey then you will no doubt want to do some research as to the most suitable way to get to the competition. The great thing is that there is a selection of ports that you can travel from to get across either the North Sea or the English Channel.

For instance, if you live up north, you could take your motorhome on a ferry from Hull to Holland and then travel overland into Germany perhaps stopping off on the way to enjoy some of the many scenic cities and towns along with some local food.

Another option, if you live on the east coast could be to travel from Harwich in Essex into Holland and again travel across country to Germany.

If you live in London or in the South East then how about taking your motorhome to Dover and getting the ferry to Calais and then travelling across France to Germany. Another option could be to use Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais that is a slightly quicker option than travelling by Ferry.

If you reside around Plymouth or Portsmouth then perhaps you could travel you’re your motorhome on Brittany Ferries.

As you can see, there are numerous ways of travelling by motorhome to the Euros just make sure that you do your research and planning. Also make sure that you have adequate motorhome insurance in place that covers travelling in Europe and that you also have suitable breakdown cover.
