Believe it or not but it won’t be too long before Spring is upon us. In fact, it is only a short few weeks away with Spring officially starting on the 20th March 2024. So, we thought we would get in early and remind you of some of the things you need to consider doing when it comes to taking your motorhome out from its winter storage and getting it ready for the existing time when you will be setting out on your first break in your leisure vehicle in 2024.
Make sure that there is adequate fuel in the vehicle whether that is petrol or diesel as you don’t want to set off and only get a few miles down the road before coming to a standstill due to running out of fuel.
If you had declared your motorhome SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification), make sure that you reverse this entry as you don’t want to get fined and receive penalty points on your driving license.
Make sure that the batteries are reconnected and are fully charged so that you do not find yourself with an inadequate power supply especially if you are into wild camping.
Check the tyre pressure in all the tyres including the spare one. The last thing you want to discover is that you have a puncture.
Is there enough oil in the engine and don’t forget to check the anti-freeze.
Are all the lights working both outside and inside the motorhome.
Why not give your motorhome a good spring clean so that it is clean and fresh for when you set off on your first break of 2024. It shouldn’t take too long to vacuum and dust around the motorhome.
Your motorhome could probably do with a good wash and polish on the outside if it has been in storage over the winter months.
Check that you have fresh water and an adequate amount of gas.
Clean and freshen up the toilet.
Don’t forget to make sure that you have motorhome insurance in place. In that respect, why not get in contact with us to obtain a competitive quote without any obligation. We provide access to an extensive panel of specialist insurers.
