When the pandemic restrictions started to ease off here in the UK there were a significant number of holidaymakers who were uneasy at taking a holiday abroad for one or more reasons. One of those reasons may well have been that if he or she got COVID-19 whilst enjoying a much needed holiday overseas it may result in them having to remain abroad for a number of extra days when they may have preferred to be back in the UK. As a result, there was a great deal of interest in some people wanting to hire a motorhome and holiday in it in the UK.

Although things are as good as “back to normal” in the main with regard to taking a much needed holiday abroad whether that be to sunny Southern Spain or the champagne region of France there is still a significant level of interest from people preferring to remain in the UK on holiday.

Some of those people will no doubt, having enjoyed their motorhome holiday a year or two ago in the UK, welcome the opportunity to rent a motorhome for either a short break lasting 3 or 4 days or take a more extended holiday of one to two weeks but continue to take it in the UK.

Another reason why the likes of couples and families may prefer to hire a motorhome to enjoy a touring holiday around the likes of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland is because inflation is so high and they have limited disposable income and they anticipate hopefully being able to spend less on taking a holiday in the UK in the likes of a motorhome.

It is going to be interesting to see just how busy companies will be who hire out motorhomes here in the UK this year. There is no doubt that holidaymakers are going to be price sensitive and a number will probably will be looking for a bargain if such a thing currently exists here in the UK.
