Some time ago it was being forecast by some people that the selling price of second hand motorhomes and campervans could rise here in the UK for a number of reasons such as the shortage of new motorhomes being available to would be buyers. After all, if there are fewer new leisure vehicles appearing in showrooms then some people who were considering buying one might instead decide to purchase a used motorhome that perhaps was only registered say a year or two ago.

However, it is going to be interesting to observe what may happen to the price of used motorhomes in the coming months in view of the recession. Perhaps some people may decide to put on the back-burner the thought of buying a second hand motorhome for the time being preferring not to take on additional borrowing to fund such a purchase in view of inflation continuing to rise. Apparently, it is being forecast that the rate of inflation in the UK could reach in the region of 13%.

We have seen domestic expenditure increase in the last few months with things like food, utility bills, petrol and diesel prices as well as mortgage and rental payments to name but a few go up. This may have put quite a number of people off from investing in a motorhome or campervan.

Instead, some may prefer to rent a motorhome for a weekend break or a longer week or fortnights holiday rather than commit to spending many thousands of pounds on buying a used motorhome.

Whilst we do not have a crystal ball and there is no certainty, if demand falls, then we may also see the selling price being sought for used motorhomes start to come down in the coming months here in the UK. We will endeavor to continue to keep our readers up dated in this respect.
