There are now an awful lot of electric cars on our roads here in the UK but probably not many electric campervans. Hopefully that situation will change in the near future but what are some of the pros and cons of owning an electric campervan?
Well, they are more eco-friendly than either petrol or diesel fuelled campervans and that is probably the main reason why electric vehicles are being introduced worldwide. Hopefully you will agree that anything that can be done to help improve the environment in which we all live has got to be welcomed.
An electric campervan is cheaper to run from a fuel perspective. This is particularly important in the current financial climate with the high prices being seen at forecourts around the UK to purchase petrol or diesel.
The saving made on fuel costs should be considered in conjunction with the extra cost of the amount you would have to pay for an electric campervan. As with cars, you would expect to pay a significant amount more for an electric campervan when compared with a petrol or diesel-fuelled campervan.
They are no doubt quieter when being driven and this would come as a welcome benefit to some people.
It is quite possible that you will be making some long distance trips in a campervan whether that is in the UK or overseas. You may also be travelling in some remote spots when holidaying. Therefore the range of an electric campervan is potentially important. After all, you would not want to get stranded in the middle of nowhere many miles from a charging point. As time goes on, the range of electric campervans will probably increase.
