If you own a motorhome or campervan then it is worth bearing in mind that there are an awful lot of people here in the UK who have decided to have a family holiday on the mainland rather than venture overseas this summer. So, it is quire possible that pitches on quality sites in the likes of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may become quite booked up.

So, if you are considering enjoying a family holiday in your motorhome or campervan in the UK, you may wish to get on the phone to the campsite you are interested in staying at to check what availability, if any, they have in the coming weeks. Better to do this as opposed to just arriving at the campsite only to find that there is no pitch available for your leisure vehicle and end up having to find the likes of a layby to park overnight in.

As a result of the pandemic, apparently there has been a rise in the number of people deciding to rent a motorhome or campervan. Therefore, this will also no doubt result in their being less availability of spare camping pitches at popular sites dotted around the UK.

Of course, potentially there are a number of locations where you may be able to enjoy “wild camping” and park your motorhome or campervan off the beaten track but, if this is something that you decide to do, you will need to make sure that your motorhome is fully equipped to cope with such camping.

If it proves difficult to book a pitch in many of the popular campsites around the UK, such as on the coast, you may have more success booking a pitch several miles inland meaning that you have to spend more time getting to the coast to enjoy a day on the beach. We do hope that you manage to take your family on a much needed summer holiday in your motorhome or campervan somewhere in the UK.
