The pandemic has had a huge impact in a negative way on so many things both here in the UK and around the world. Not least of which has been the tourist industry but hopefully that is shortly due to change.

The government announced a few days ago that, not before 12th April 2021, it was hoping to be able to allow campsites in England to re-open. Clarification is required about the use of shared facilities such as toilets and showers as well as washing up areas at campsites.

We are sure that you will agree this is potentially excellent news for those people who own motorhomes, campervans, caravans and tents. There was huge interest last year from people who purchased motorhomes so, hopefully, those people will soon be able to use them for a much-needed break here in England from the 12th April.

Of course, the news will also have been welcomed by the owners of caravan and campsites in England. Those businesses, like many others, will have suffered financially and perhaps some will, unfortunately, never re-open.

Presumably, those businesses that rent out motorhomes and campervans in England will be seeing a rise in enquiries as people look to plan some form of break that they have not been able to enjoy for a significant period of time. If this is something that you are contemplating then you may wish to give thought to starting the ball rolling sooner rather than later so that you do not miss out on staying at your preferred campsite. If you are able to make a booking then you may wish to check if there is an option to cancel/re-arrange the booking if for whatever reason the government end up having to change their plans with regard to campsites re-opening perhaps due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths.

If you do manage to get away on the 12th April in your motorhome or campervan in England then we hope that the weather is kind to you and you have a most enjoyable time.
