Motorhome and campervan owners will be please to read that the government announced on the 23rd June 2020 that campsites and caravan parks in England will be able to reopen from 4 July 2020. This will no doubt come as excellent news for those people operating campsites and caravan parks and will please many owners of motorhomes, campervans and tents who have had to wait an awful long time since they were last able to make use of their leisure vehicles.

From 4th July, as people are going to be able to travel in their campervans and motorhomes, we can expect to see more and more of such leisure vehicles on our roads as people make for holiday destinations either in England or certain countries overseas.

The government has said that shared facilities such as showers, kitchens and toilets can be used on campsites as long as this fits in with government guidelines relating to usage and cleaning. Motorhome owners whose vehicles are equipped with such facilities may decide to use their own facilities rather than the ones on campsites to give themselves extra peace of mind.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club intend to reopen their campsites on a phased basis from the 4th July in England.

You may wish to carry suitable hand cleanser in your vehicle and things like disinfectant wipes to keep tabletops and work surfaces spotlessly clean. You may also wish to have your leisure vehicle serviced and have things like your tyres checked to make sure that they are well within the legal limit.
