Motorhome owners will be aware of the impact the coronavirus pandemic is having in the UK and other countries around the world. A large number of people are unable to work or, wherever possible, working from home. However, what effect is the pandemic having on those people who own motorhomes or campervans as far as using them for what they are intended i.e. to take short breaks or longer holidays?

Writing this post this weekend is rather timely bearing in mind it is the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and the weather so far has been very good with glorious sunshine and high temperatures in some places exceeding 20 degrees centigrade. Normally, there would be numerous motorhome owners taking to the roads and heading off for a long weekend in their leisure vehicle to the likes of the Lake District, Scottish Highlands, Brecon Beacons or to enjoy a coastal break in Cornwall or Devon.

Unfortunately, you cannot enjoy this weekend away in your motorhome or campervan due to the outbreak of coronavirus as you can only make necessary journeys such as to food shop or pick up medication. Regrettably, there would appear to be a small number of motorhome owners who are ignoring the new regulations with regard to travel. Such owners may find that they are turned back by the police when arriving at popular tourist destinations.

So, if you are a motorhome owner, what can you do instead that involves your leisure vehicle? Well, why not spend some quality time in thoroughly cleaning both the inside and outside of your motorhome or campervan. Wash and dry all the bed linen and curtains in the vehicle and all the crockery and cutlery. Make sure that the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition. You could also spend some time planning one or two future trips. Doing these things will ensure that, when the travel restrictions are eventually lifted, you will be able to maximize the opportunity to enjoy a holiday in your motorhome or campervan once again.
