Nowadays, new motorhomes tend to come well equipped but we thought you might find it useful if we provided a list of things that motorhome enthusiasts consider to be essential items to bring with them either on a short break or a long holiday.
Awning – an awning will no doubt prove useful preferably one that has side and front panels to it enabling you to create more living space thus adding to the enjoyment of your holiday. A number of motorhomes do come already equipped with an awning that rolls out but there are some that do not.
Cab Blind – to add to your privacy as night draws in and you decide to get some sleep, you will want to make sure the windows and the windscreen in your motorhome can be covered. You will no doubt have curtains or a blind for the windows but may need to buy a cab screen for the windscreen. You can either purchase an external or internal one.
Barbeque – you can’t beat eating outdoors on a lovely summer evening whilst enjoying a motorhome holiday but better still why not invest in a barbeque and do the cooking outside as well.
Cooking Equipment – of course you will need to make sure you have all the usual cooking utensils such as pans, crockery, cutlery, mugs and wine glasses to name but a few.
Gas Cylinders – make sure that you have a spare gas cylinder before setting off on your trip otherwise you may encounter a problem if you are in the middle of no-where and one runs out.
Torch – if you need to pop to the toilet in the middle of the night and the campsite is not lit up then you will find a torch invaluable.
Chairs and table for outside – nothing beats sitting outside your motorhome on a warm evening reading a book and enjoying a glass of wine so you will need a small table and some chairs that fold up so that they take up as little space as possible in your motorhome.
Portable Toilet – if your motorhome does not come equipped with a built in loo then you may wish to consider a portable toilet that can be tucked away somewhere for use in case of need.
Sat Nav – if your motorhome doesn’t come equipped with a satellite navigation system then you may wish to buy one. This will make getting from A to B so much easier.
There are no doubt a number of other items that you may wish to being along on your holiday. For instance, don’t forget to bring your motorhome insurance policy with you in case you are involved in a road traffic accident or are broken into.
