When it comes to choosing a motorhome, one of the things that you will need to decide is how big a vehicle you will require. In addition, you may also need to consider what sorts of trips you will be making in your RV.

In very simple terms, if you are a couple with no children then a 2 berth motor home may do the job but if you are a family of 4 then a 4-berth vehicle may be more suitable. If you have a large family made up of say 2 adults and 4 children then an even larger 6-berth motorhome may be more suitable.

Having said that, a couple may prefer a 4-berth vehicle to provide extra space. It really is all down to personal choice but let’s not forget that cost is also an important factor in deciding the size of motorhome.

Also, the sort of trips you make may have a bearing upon the size of vehicle. For instance, if you are a couple who only take short weekend breaks then a 2 berth vehicle may be more than adequate but if you are likely to go away for a week or two then you may prefer that bit extra space and opt for say a 4 berth vehicle.

Storage space is also a factor. So, if you like to take an awful lot of clothes with you and carry large supplies of food and drink then you may wish to consider a larger motor home than someone who travels light.

Another factor relating to the size of the motorhome you choose is the driving of the vehicle. The larger the vehicle the more difficult it becomes to drive “off-the beaten track” along single-track roads with passing places. Therefore, if you like to visit very remote locations such as in some places in Scotland then you may prefer a more compact vehicle.

So, before choosing which motorhome to buy, why not spend some time looking at various makes and models and sizes. Why not see if you can hire the vehicle for a weekend to get a feel for whether it is going to be suitable for your purposes. After all, when you consider how much a new motorhome costs to buy you need to make the correct choice. Good luck and enjoy your new motorhome.
